Nightingales Golden Care ahead of digital curve

The Department of Health and Social Care has recently announced new plans for digital health and social care that sets out a vision for a digitally-enabled health and social care system and how this can be achieved.

The plan outlines the Government’s priorities for digital transformation, including a requirement for everyone to have access to their own data, in the form of a lifelong, joined-up health and social care record, giving everyone the chance to access their own data, universally, by 2024.

Committing to 80% of CQC-registered social care providers having digital social care records in place by March 2024, it also shows that currently just 45% of social care providers have any form of digital care records.

Nightingales Golden Care Manger Ben Chudley said that moving a 20 year old care agency completely digital has been no easy task however he is very proud to see Nightingales Golden Care ahead of the curve having implemented fully digital record keeping for all service users since May 2021.

After researching many different types of Apps and finding the ways in which they did not quite work for Domiciliary Care, Ben has been working with Biride.Care to develop its Visit planning’ function and bring improvements that will make Digital Care recording work well for this industry:

“Birdie, as a digital company prioritising in domiciliary care, Nightingales Golden Care have been exceptional in their transparency and willingness to collaborate with us in developing and tailoring the product to work well in the industry. The agency has helped us several

times by providing feedback and suggestions, demoing any new features before we release them, and giving us incredibly valuable context on how the product impacts and can impact the lives of our older adults. Their openness to trial with us has allowed us to rapidly develop

a particular feature of the software (visit planning), to be better tailored for themselves and other companies. As they continue to provide excellent insight and context on many different areas of care, including medication monitoring and rostering, we are immensely proud and

grateful to have such a tech-minded, caring, and proactive partner in developing our tech and improving domiciliary care throughout the country.” – Birdie
